Normally people come together in trying times. The prohibition of gatherings and especially the suspension of public Masses is a big loss for all of us during this difficult time.
Your priests, deacons and pastoral team want you to know we are here for you by phone or in person, when possible. We will continue ministering to you through our website
www.pwc.church and by email; if you have not received my recent messages by email, please email your parish office asking to add your address to our list.
For any specific needs, please call or email us - we will be checking messages and get back to you as soon as possible.
As this bulletin goes to press, we are still intending to keep the churches open during the day as a place for peace and private prayer (see schedule). Pilot Publishing is con-
tinuing to provide this bulletin for you to read online, and a number of paper copies are available to take if you visit the church.
If anyone can’t access the bulletin, please let us know and we will try to send you a paper copy. We will provide prayers, resources, and messages from Cardinal Seán to help us spiritually through this time. Recently the
Cardinal wrote in a letter to priests:
“We must assure our people that we are spiritually close to them as Pope Francis always urges us to do, and that although there are no public Masses that all of us will celebrate Mass privately for their safety and needs each day. One of our important roles as priest is to be an intercessor for our people. As a priest, it is our special task to ensure that: ‘from the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord be praised’ (Psalm 113).”
For sure we continue to celebrate Masses privately as we pray for the scheduled Mass Intentions and for all of our parishioners and others in our communities. We invite
you to participate in these Masses through
online videos, including live weekday Masses around 9am. To see a familiar face at the altar, click the
Masses Online link on our website. Of course, you can also participate in the Holy Mass on television.
It makes a difference when we reach out to each other: family, friends, and especially our neighbors. We need to know we are there for each other - whether through practical help or that consoling voice on the other end of the phone. We will keep reaching out to you in the coming weeks; please try to stay in touch with your parish family and with one another!
