The C.I.A. (Catholics In Action) High School Youth Ministry

Our newly formed CIA had a wonderful year and we are thankful to all that were part of it by joining us for weekly meet­ings, fun experiences, or through your support and prayers. Our group is open to all young people in grades 9-12 and we invite anyone in high school to join us for each of these opportunities to be with your friends and to make new friends too!

We gather most Tuesday nights from 7-9 pm in the basement of St. Mary’s parish rectory. Our weekly gatherings act as a spiritual break in the week, where we connect with God and those going through similar high school experiences. In an informal way, we further our relationship with Jesus and experience His unconditional love by praying as a community, with and for one another and our intentions. We will not be meeting between Christmas and New Years, but please join us when we resume on Tuesday, January 3rd!

This year we have enjoyed many special activities including field trips to LIFT worship nights, fun bowling outings, and volunteering to wrap Christmas gifts at My Brother’s Keeper! We traveled together and had an awesome Service Week in Vermont. Throughout the week we grew together in friendship and faith. We have also gone on weekend retreats in­cluding a Whitewater Rafting Adventure!

Summer 2017 Promises to be an Exciting one! Our popular mission trip experiences have been so wonderful and meaningful that our program is growing.

For 2017 there are TWO mission trips planned!

 

July 16-22: Join our High School Youth Ministry as we travel back to the gulf coast of Mississippi for another week of service. We will be working with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. During this week we will be staying at the College of St. Stanislaus located in Bay St. Louis, MS.

July 30-Aug 4: Join us as we travel back to Jacksonville, Vermont for another week of service.

During this week we will once again be staying at the Dumaine House.

These awesome service experiences are open to any parishioner currently in High School. Keep an eye on your email and the bulletin for sign up information beginning in January.
