The choir at St. Mary has found ways to stay together through technology in a virtual choir project called, 10,000 Reasons, which can soon be viewed on our collaborative website. We were all singing our own part separately but with the tools of technology, singing together. I am hoping that as a collaborative, we can continue to do this together for the upcoming Advent and Christmas Season.
We will be live streaming a virtual presentation of Lessons and Carols on December 13 in the afternoon (Time TBD) on all of our streaming platforms. Lessons (scriptures) and Carols, is an Advent tradition consisting of nine scripture readings and carols. Everyone can record their own part speaking or singing safely at home and I will compile all the videos so we are all sharing the Good News together.
All of the materials – overview instructions for both carols and scriptures, recording instructions, sheet music, readings, singalong tracks (backing/guide tracks), sign-up sheets for which songs/readings you would like to participate in, and folders for your video submission are available on Google Drive. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, St. Mary's Music Director by text at (774-454-2374) or email at [email protected]. I will be happy to schedule video or phone time to help you set up recording properly and to learn the music. I will also set up a couple zoom meetings to help people learn the music. Video submissions are due by NOVEMBER 28. Please share this information with anyone in our collaborative who you think may be interested - All are welcome to participate!!
This has been an unprecedented time and this will be an unprecedented Christmas Season. But the birth of Christ shows us that nothing can separate us from the love of God, and nothing can stop us from sharing Jesus' love with each other. I know that as a family of faith we can celebrate Christmas safely yet most surely together!
