The Knights of Columbus are inviting families to consecrate themselves to the Holy Family on the weekend of January 22nd-23rd at all Masses at both St Martha and St Mary. This is a decision to dedicate the family to the Holy Family’s intercession but also an acknowledgement the family is sacred. Salvation history was changed by a family and through our families, as a domestic church, we are called to live by their example. Four Steps to help prepare this week:
Discuss the importance and why the family is doing it.
Each member of the family to receive the Sacrament of reconciliation if it has been a while.
As a family, choose something to fast from for the week- Something that is meaningful. This prepares our minds and hearts by refraining from worldly things and helps us focus more on God
Remember this commitment is not just a onetime event we will pray but a way of life. We are choosing to all be a beacon of Christ’s light to the world through our families which is itself a domestic church.
The Knight of Columbus invite all parishioners to reflect on the life of the Holy family . On the weekend of Jan 15/16 they will offer prayer cards which help place our families under the protection of the Holy Family.
The Holy Family prayer will be prayed by the congregation at all Masses on the weekend of Jan 22/23. All are invited to consciously choose to be a beacon of God’s love through His Church.
