Petition for Catholic Schools, Financial Update, 4:30 Mass Worship Aid
Subject: Mothers, Nurses, Unity & Petition for Catholic Schools
If you plan to watch the 4:30 Vigil Mass live today (or sometime over the weekend), please go to www.pwc.church to print a worship aid so you can join in the hymns and prayers! (See below for info on Mass times and how to access them online.
As we honor and celebrate mothers this weekend, our parishes will pray for mothers-to-be, the mothers among us, and each of our mothers - whether local, distant, or with the Lord. Especially if necessary precautions mean your family can’t be with each other this Mother’s Day, it is important to remember we are still connected in many ways. Hopefully we can reach out to them by phone or video call, we certainly can lift them up in prayer, and we can even represent their love and nurturing care for those around us.
Having just celebrated Nurses Appreciation Week, we are so grateful for all nurses who do just that - especially in the way they care for sick mothers and other loved ones we cannot visit right now.
This week,
the unity of each of our Parishes with the wider Church family came up in some of our webinars and discussions with volunteer leaders and staff in our collaborative -
“We are one body in Christ” we read in Scripture and sing at Mass. As an expression of this unity, we are united with Cardinal Seán in asking all of us to support our Catholic schools by signing this
online petition. The goal is to ensure that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese get their fair share of money allocated through the CARES Act. Several Catholic schools have already had to close, and this petition may help keep those closures to a minimum.
FATHER JOE presents faith and acceptance as keys to finding peace, with special focus on the Serenity Prayer.
April Financial Updates for each of our parishes demonstrate your steadfast support through contributions amounting to a large portion of our regular offertory support. God bless those parishioners on reduced hours or without work, as well as all those who are still able to make regular contributions - to keep our parishes available to all!
