William Zeller, a Boy Scout in Troop 131 - Wrentham, and a member of the Plainville-Wrentham parishes is undertaking a project to enrich St. Martha Parish Family and the collaborative community as a whole.
The premise of the project is to install a prayer garden behind the Parish Pastoral Center. The Sisters of Jesus and Mary, our neighbors on School Street, have kindly gifted us a statue of Saint Dominic, which has been on their property from the time it was the Dominican Academy in Plainville. The Dominican Sisters not only taught in the school, but they also taught CCD at St. Martha Parish. This statue of their patron will stand as the focal point of the new prayer garden as a representation of our long-standing relationship with them.
The statue will be installed as well as refurbished, and a garden will be built surrounding it. The goal of this project is to provide a sanctuary where one can experience their faith through nature. As the project is completed, there will be some necessary expenses. Moving the statue, the biggest expense, as well as power-washing and repainting the statue, constructing the cement base, and bushes, mulch, and flowers will all be necessary to finish the garden properly.
Any form of help would be greatly appreciated. Financial donations of any size will allow us to create a truly beautiful retreat right here on Saint Martha’s grounds. Financial contributions to this Eagle Scout Project may be made payable to Saint Martha’s Parish, and he delivered to the parish office. Thank you for your time and support!
