Grades 4, 5, 6 RECTORY
Wednesday
Grade 2 & 3 - PARISH HALL
Grade 4, 5 & 6 - RECTORY
**Homeschoolers: Specific instructions will be coming your way via email before the start of the program.
Dismissal Policy:
Grade 4, 5 & 6 students being dismissed with a sibling whose class is in the Parish Hall, will be walked over from the Church Rectory to the Parish Hall. If you would like your child to be walked from the Rectory to the Parish Hall at dismissal time, please bring a note on the first day of class.
For safety reasons, parents will need to leave their cars to pick up their children. Children will be assembled by grade level. When leaving, traffic cones will be placed in such a way that the traffic will be directed around the back side of the Rectory and out the Minot Street exit. This will create an even flow of traffic and again, ensure the safety of the children. Please drive slowly and carefully at drop off and pick up as there are a lot of children walking through the parking lot.
Please note:
If your child will be going home with another adult or if being dismissed early, we MUST have written notification. You may email Mrs. Hoagland directly or send a note.
Absentee Policy:
If your child is going to be absent from class please email Mrs. Hoagland to let her know. This again, is a very important safety issue.
Cancellation Policy:
When school is canceled Faith Formation classes are automatically canceled. If you are unsure as to whether or not classes are going to be canceled you can check your emails. We will post cancellations on our web site if we feel there is any kind of danger in having you drive to St. Mary's for classes.
Parents, please remember the importance of class attendance. When you register your child for Faith Formation, a commitment is being made with the understanding that your child will be attending classes. The children learn better when they attend classes on a regular basis. Please try not to schedule any outside activities during classes unless it is an emergency.
Please remember to reinforce what your child is learning in class. It is our hope that every child is attending Mass each week. The Mass is the most significant act of our Christian worship. While Faith Formation in and of itself is very important, the Mass is the heart and soul of our Christian life. Unless your child sees that attending Mass is important to you then little of what is being taught in Faith Formation will have any meaning for them.
As our Faith Formation year resumes, we call upon God to send the Holy Spirit to guide us, as we celebrate with one another, the hope of a year filled with many blessings. We offer prayerful gratitude for the gift of faith that the catechists so lovingly and generously share with your children. We also thank you for the love and commitment to the Baptismal promises you made for them at Baptism. We say a prayerful "thank you" for your support and cooperation.
Together in Christ +,
Maggie Hoagland, Director of Faith Formation of Children
