First Holy Communion is considered one of the most important occasions in a young person's life as it is the first time that the child receives the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
At St. Martha and St. Mary Parishes, preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion is a two-year program, beginning in first grade and concluding with the sacramental Mass in the spring of second grade.
As it is important to be without sin and in a state of grace prior to receiving communion, the children make their First Reconciliation (confession) prior to receiving their First Holy Communion.
The registration period for Faith Formation is June 1-30 every year, and classes begin each September. For more information, please refer to our Faith Formation page, or contact our Director of Faith Formation for Children at [email protected].
