1st Grade Registration:
If your child was not baptized in our parish, registration will be complete when we receive a copy of your child’s baptism certificate.
We are delighted to partner with you and your family to offer a comprehensive
faith formation program that will help your children grow in their love for God.
Our Faith Formation program is divided into two age-based groups.
Grades 1-6
For children in grades 1-6, we offer a weekly, age-based faith formation program that is based on the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies curriculum. Mrs. Maggie Hoagland, Director of Faith Formation for Children and a former “Teacher of the Year” in the Plainville School System, has taught as a catechist for more than 25 years, holds a Catechetical Certification in the New Evangelization, and has lived Cursillo. Maggie has been fortunate to have made pilgrimages to Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje, Rome, Krakow,Guadalupe and the Holy Land. Mrs. Hoagland provides innovative program support to the faith formation teachers so that all students receive an enriching faith-filled experience.
Wrentham:
If your family is registered at St. Mary Parish in Wrentham, there are two options for Grades 2-6.
A hybrid model:
Children will alternate weeks attending “in-person” lessons with their catechists. On alternate weeks, families will work with the children at home using the materials provided. (This allows us to follow the safety recommendations of the Archdiocese which closely mirror the state and CDC guidelines). We will continually monitor the local elementary schools throughout
the year only holding classes when they are open.
A homeschool model:
This model is for families who opt to homeschool their children for the entire year.
Guidance will be provided throughout
the program to make it more meaningful.
This year, due to the pandemic, homeschooling with weekly support will be offered for all grade 1 students. The material provided will help prepare children for their grade 2 sacramental year.
