June has been a month of celebration and progress in our Plainville-Wrentham Catholic Collaborative! With the arrival of our
new Associate Pastor, Father Lambert Nieme, we have experienced a new style of preaching and celebrating Mass. I have heard from many of you how excited you are about his joy and enthusiasm in the faith! We also have formally begun the search to fill Bob Collins’ role
leading our Faith Formation for Youth programs (middle school and high school). The
job posting is on our website please share it with anyone you think would be interested. Meanwhile, our
Faith Formation Registration month is more than half over, so
please be sure to register your children and youth for the coming year by the end of June. Despite several challenges, our Pastoral Team and both Parish Finance Councils have helped to
strengthen our financial health. Finally, a former member of our Pastoral Team,
Father Bill Schmidt, recently posted a very positive update, on social media about how his renewal sabbatical is going. This is included on the last page for parishioners to see. May he and our parishes continue to experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit guiding our lives!
As we all
transition into summertime, it is not only students who need a break from the usual routine. While our busy lives and complicated schedules can make it difficult, please make sure to plan some time of renewal and “re-creation” for yourself this summer.
Part of this renewal should include prayer and our relationship with God, especially through His Word and the Sacraments. When traveling, use resources like
MassTimes.org (or 1-858-207-6277) to plan ahead where you and your family will participate in the Sunday Eucharist. Please continue your support of your home parish through
Online Giving (signup at pwc.church) or the envelope system so we can afford to “keep a light on for you” when you return. May our celebration this weekend of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ bring us to an ever deeper appreciation of the
power of God to heal and strengthen us in the Eucharist we receive every week!
