Commemoration of the Faithful Departed | Feast of All Souls
Throughout the month of November, we remember our deceased loved ones in prayer. For us as Catholics, this prayer affirms our belief that we will someday be reunited with them.
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed on November 2, known as All Souls Day, was first celebrated in the eleventh century by Saint Odilo, Abbot of the great Benedictine Abbey of Cluny, in Burgundy. From there it spread throughout the Church.
Cardinal Seán remembers our deceased family members, friends and fellow parishioners especially in his prayers this month. In keeping with this widespread custom, we invite you to send us the names of deceased loved ones to be added to Cardinal Seán's prayers. In addition, we will place the names at the altar in the Bethany Chapel at the Pastoral Center to be remembered at daily Mass throughout the month of November.
If you would like to include the names of your loved ones, please click here to submit the names via the online form.
